50 styles with 50 states

I’m really an east coast girl at heart.  I grew up in New Jersey and learned that the”tell it like it is” and “get over it” attitude gave me the ability to think on my toes.  I loved living in the fast paced environment that is Manhattan, appreciating its culture, diversity and fun.  Well, I ended up in the west from Utah to Vegas and now my home is California.  How polar opposite is that?

My husband is from San Diego and has always wanted to move back here.  So here we are!  Although not really a California girl, I’m loving the beach, the weather and the laid back feel.

When it comes to style, sandals and flip flops are 24/7.  Outfits are casual.  Dress nice for dinner but not too dressy for that walk on the beach.  Keep a sweater in your car and throw in a towel.

For this San Diego style, Old Navy is the perfect place to shop for your family.  With our two boys who need shorts and t-shirts all the time, Old Navy has these staples in abundance.  For me, I need practical clothing like maxi dresses, t-shirts, sweaters and of course, flip flops.

Old Navy and People.com have partnered to present 50 Styles with 50 States.  Representing California, this outfit conveys the easy attitude and relaxed style that is its hallmark.  The stretchy  jersey material makes it easy to dress up or down.  I love this chambray shirt.  It’s so versatile and comfortable.  Everyone needs a chambray shirt or two in their wardrobe.

This outfit is as perfect for dinner out as it is for that romantic walk on the beach.  Just kick off your dressy shoes and grab those flip flops.
