I Am SO Pregnant

The doctor thinks I am “about” two weeks away from delivery.  If possible, I will try to hold out an extra week.  That being said, I can try as hard as I want but this boy will come when HE wants, not when the doctor or I want! There are days that I seriously want him to end this waiting, and others where I am not sure I can handle him out, just yet.

Nearing the end of this pregnancy, I notice more stretch marks, clothes are tighter and I’m hungrier.  On a daily basis my appetite has grown substantially and all I want is hotdogs, Chic-fil-A and coke.  Am I eating for a boy or what?

All the comments of “you are all belly, girl” I love and appreciate.  But, I’m not all belly.  I just look it because of the size of this bump and the once tiny body that had to grow to fit this little guy in.  In simple terms, I grew exponentially.  My body has been more than accommodating and has done too good a job of expanding me.

My sister delivered a beautiful baby boy at a birthing center the same time I went to the hospital the fourth time for premature contractions.  She was amazing and handled all the labor medication free.  I am so impressed by her! Only the future will tell how I will handle labor.

The following are questions little preggos get asked and to take stock, I’ve answered them.

How far along?  It shouldn’t be how far along, but HOW MUCH LONGER?  The answer is “about” two weeks.

Total weight gain?  35 pounds and still in shock!

Maternity clothes?  That’s all this little fashionista can wear!

Stretch marks?  Really?  That’s not a smart question…but yes.  Where?  Not telling!

Sleep:  I wake every two hours and get a few “cat” naps during the day.  Wait!  It sounds like preparation for when the baby comes!

Best moment this week?  NOT going to the hospital.

Baby’s favorite sport?  He’s training for a marathon and my ribs are constantly getting in his way.

Food cravings?  Hot dogs, chips, salty food, Oreo McFlurries…sounds like baseball game food!  Duh!

Belly Button in or out?  Totally out!

Wedding rings on or off?  Truly? Off!  If I notice puffy fingers manacled by a ring than there’s every reason to abandon it.

Happy or Moody (what is my badness level)?  I am not responsible for knowing what is my mood since it will change several times during the day.

Weekly Wisdom?  Take it easy and don’t look in the mirror naked anymore!

I totally know how you feel about the weight gain! People keep telling me how tiny I am but in reality, my dr told me I’m ahead of the curve for weight gain. Not the best thing to hear 🙂 but you do look fabulous and I’m sure your tiny fit body will be back before ya know it! Good luck when the lil boy decides to come!!

You’re glowing, girl! You’ll be so surprised at how fast the weight comes off if you’re planning on breast feeding. (I was very thin before my health problems.). You won’t have all those crazy cravings either and your appetite will return to normal. You’ll just be so happy enjoying your miracle that your own body carried for 9 months! I’m so happy for you. Wishing you the smoothest delivery. Keeping you in my prayers.
